Mad Men

nellienellie:

Mad Men was incredible tonight in a way that it hasn’t been for a while. I cried a little.

I am also loving all the hand-holding that’s been going on.

I can’t wait til they all get in a circle and all hold hands together.

I’ve always watched Mad Men and liked it, but never loved it or had any explanation for why I liked it (besides Peggy).  But lately, it’s been so good.  I’ve also always wanted to hate Don, but never truly could until episode 6.  And now, after number 7 I can’t anymore.  Damn you writers!

I saw Alex Yang at (none other than) Papa Gorilla on Friday.  It was magical.

Really, really interesting one about where monogamy came from and why it’s not necessarily the way humans are supposed to work.  A+

thanks to statcounter

I know that my blog comes up on the first page of Google if you search for:

- naked gong yoo (I get at least two of these a day.  Sorry to disappoint you all.)

- papa gorilla or papa gorilla seoul

- taco bell itaewon

Real nice, eh?  Making a name for myself with the help of half-naked Korean guys, bars in Hongdae, and Taco Bell.

ETA: “typical korean dinner” also works.  That’s a little better.

where can one find silly bandz in seoul?

Or at least a Korean knock-off, which would probably be more likely.  Not that I want to buy any… (preferably the Justin Beiber 24-pack)

trying to sleep in a typhoon

is near impossible!  My apartment walls are made up of about 30% windows, which are currently shaking and sound like they are going to break.  And it’s not even supposed to hit Seoul until noon, so I can’t even imagine what it’ll be like then.  Ahhh!!!  D:

a notice from the u.s. embassy

This warden message is being issued to alert U.S. citizens residing or traveling in the Republic of Korea that the Korea Meteorological Administration has issued alerts for a Category 3 storm, Typhoon Kompasu.  As of 1230 (local time) on Wednesday, September 1, Typhoon Kompasu was located approximately 263 kilometers or 163 miles southwest of Cheju island  and traveling north at 33 km/h (20 mph).   It is expected to turn in a northeast direction and pass very near Seoul at approximately 1500 (local time) on Thursday, September 2.

The Korea Meteorological Administration reports that the maximum sustained wind speed in the storm is 157 km/h (98 mph). While Typhoon Kompasu’s winds are expected to decrease over the next 36 hours, sustained maximum winds when the storm reaches Seoul are still predicted to be as high as 150 Km/h (93 mph).

I feel like I’ve been experiencing a typhoon for the past month now.  When will this rain end?!?!  Do they have Typhoon Days here?  Please no school tomorrow?
