Mad Men was incredible tonight in a way that it hasn’t been for a while. I cried a little.

I am also loving all the hand-holding that’s been going on.

I can’t wait til they all get in a circle and all hold hands together.

I’ve always watched Mad Men and liked it, but never loved it or had any explanation for why I liked it (besides Peggy). But lately, it’s been so good. I’ve also always wanted to hate Don, but never truly could until episode 6. And now, after number 7 I can’t anymore. Damn you writers!

I saw Alex Yang at (none other than) Papa Gorilla on Friday. It...

I saw Alex Yang at (none other than) Papa Gorilla on Friday. It was magical.

savage love podcast 194 (link)

savage love podcast 194 (link):
Really, really interesting one about where monogamy came from and why it’s not necessarily the way humans are supposed to work. A+

thanks to statcounter

I know that my blog comes up on the first page of Google if you search for:

This warden message is being issued to alert U.S. citizens residing or traveling in the Republic of Korea that the Korea Meteorological Administration has issued alerts for a Category 3 storm, Typhoon Kompasu. As of 1230 (local time) on Wednesday, September 1, Typhoon Kompasu was located approximately 263 kilometers or 163 miles southwest of Cheju island and traveling north at 33 km/h (20 mph). It is expected to turn in a northeast direction and pass very near Seoul at approximately 1500 (local time) on Thursday, September 2.

The Korea Meteorological Administration reports that the maximum sustained wind speed in the storm is 157 km/h (98 mph). While Typhoon Kompasu’s winds are expected to decrease over the next 36 hours, sustained maximum winds when the storm reaches Seoul are still predicted to be as high as 150 Km/h (93 mph).

I feel like I’ve been experiencing a typhoon for the past month now. When will this rain end?!?! Do they have Typhoon Days here? Please no school tomorrow?

(via chiam)

(via chiam)

20 Things I've Learned From Traveling Around the World for Three Years

20 Things I've Learned From Traveling Around the World for Three Years:
Some things I agreed with in this article:

People are generally good: There is no race, religion or nationality that is exempt from this rule.

The media makes us scared of the rest of the world, and we shouldn’t be.

I haven’t encountered a single case of anti-Americanism in the last three-and-a-half years. Not one. (And no, I don’t tell people I am Canadian.)

The rest of the world isn’t full of germs.

Modernization is not Westernization: Modernization will certainly change a culture, but that doesn’t mean they are trying to mimic the West.

Everyone should travel.

(reblogged from ghostinjules)

Trashy movie + 3D and vibrating seats + soju + an awesome dude...

Trashy movie + 3D and vibrating seats + soju + an awesome dude I’m not telling you about = quite an entertaining way to spend my Sunday evening.

Start of a new term + having to stay three hours later than I should have for a meeting that got us nowhere + work politics = not a great way to spend my Monday.

At least my new students seem pretty awesome, and I get to spend the rest of my night watching True Blood…

The Black Keys - “Girl Is on My Mind”

The Black Keys - “Girl Is on My Mind”

From the meet-up last weekend, and thanks to Ryan’s sweet...

From the meet-up last weekend, and thanks to Ryan’s sweet camera. David’s heart-shaped sweat stain adds a nice touch.

that would be an interesting conversation...

Textbook: If you could invent anything, what would it be?
