I forgot to renew my domain, so my website died yesterday.  I’m pretty sure that happened last year, too, but it is still really stressful dealing with that kind of stuff.  It’s back now, phew!

i finally did chatroulette

It is fun/creepy/weird/probably better when drunk.  We did it for an hour, and nothing particularly interesting happened, but it’s easy to just keep hitting next and hoping that something cool (ie, not naked guys) will eventually show up.

I was wondering what my 1000th post would be.  Turns out it’s also time to renew my website for its third year, which means that will make a pretty good topic.
Today I got an email from my host company letting me know that I will owe them $90something to renew my website.  Wait, what?  When I signed up for it, I was only paying 4.44/month, which ended up at around $50.  I signed into the help chat to see what was up.  Guess that only applies for the first year, and I must have missed that last year when it automatically renewed at the higher price.  I really did not want to pay twice as much for my site, though.  It was originally intended to be an online portfolio for my (now not-happening) advertising career, which would have a lot more worth than my blog.  I love my blog and having my own domain, of course, but am not down to pay $100/year for it.
I also did not want to have to go through the hassle of switching companies because changing anything website-related is such a huge headache for me.  Plus, the one I’m with (Globat) is nothing special, but I’ve never had any issues and the customer service is always good.  So she first offered me $10 off.  Nope, sorry.  Then she put me on hold several times before finally saying they would offer me the same price I originally paid for one more year.  Yeah!  I’m glad that was easily taken care of, and my site will continue to exist.
Anyway, thank you to anyone who has checked out my blog!  I’m sure I’ll easily do 1000 more posts…

my sister

Last Friday, I went out in Champaign with my sister and my friend Ben.  Countless beers and tequila shots later, we got back to my sister’s place where she decided to write a message on her friend’s wall then quickly delete it.

Not realizing the e-faux paus she committed, I told her that he would get the email, read her creepy message then see that she deleted it, which only confirms and adds to her creepiness.

She was teetering on the edge of consciousness, so she could only giggle and stuff her face with cold leftover nachos before collapsing in bed.

The next day, he sent her a message wondering what the hell her wall post had been about.  She turned to me, confused, wondering what he was talking about.  ”OMG.  Don’t you remember?”  Nope.  Neither of us could think of what she had written, and she had no memory of even doing it.

Finally she got him to write what it said, and it was quite possibly the strangest and funniest thing I’ve ever read in my life because NONE of it made sense.

[Victim’s name redacted] ohhhhhhhhhhhhohhhhhhhhhh…..I am so happy we are comprehensive football twins..OMG And we have to learn. hahaha I dont even know why I’m talking. jeez where’d you go?!!!!! why’d you leave…

Any ideas what “comprehensive football twins” are?  Your guess is as good as hers.

From Black Out Korea.  Readers submit pics of people who have passed out around Korea, a common sight I have captured myself, in fact.

Jeff Wall, The Flooded Grave
I went to the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago on Friday.  It was awesooome.  Too bad I was dumb and didn’t realize they closed at 5, meaning I only got to hang out for about an hour and a half.

THAT IS THE COOLEST PIECE THERE, HANDS DOWN. also i may be completely retarded for not knowing this but how come none of your posts show up on my dashboard? i am sad. :(:(:(    <——seeeee?

Hahaha.  They probably aren’t showing up because you might have only added lauralikes, which is a stupid tumblr I made a long time ago and then stopped using and is now stuck as my main one.  You have to go to Laura All Over and add it there.
