Good morning, Seoul. My eyes feel like they might fall out of my head.
I went way up north of the river to watch the game with my friend Anna at her local bar. It was a good game, but way too stressful. I felt like I was going to lose my mind if it didn’t end soon enough.
On the way home, the streets were littered with chicken bones, bottles of beer, and countless people in red cheering, drinking more, or passing out. Today is going to be a long day for many, many people in Korea.
“Subway services will be extended to 2 A.M. tonight, while buses will run until 4 A.M. In addition, buses will be dispatched every five minutes between 5:30 and 6 o’clock tomorrow morning.” (via)
The Korea vs. Nigeria game is at 3:30 tomorrow morning, but people would much rather give up sleep than miss it. Lucky for me, I can sleep until 1 tomorrow, so it doesn’t really matter. Although, there is one bad thing about World Cup season, and it is that I’m spending so much extra money going out—probably tonight, then tomorrow for the US game. But it’s a lot of fun, and I’m going to miss it when it’s all over.
Apparently they had a screening of this game at COEX tonight. I can’t imagine it was that much fun. D:
Too hungover and tired from last night to go out, so I’ll be cheering from home. :(

around COEX

Korea lost to Argentina tonight. It was expected, but let’s not talk about it! Touchy subject among the proud Koreans.
We drank a lot more after the Korea game to make sure Greece won or tied against Nigeria, ensuring that Korea has a better chance of moving onto round two. ’Twas a fun night. Even met up with my new tumblr friend, Charlie. :)
too lazy to find part 1
part 2 of kim yuna and big bang
My co-worker had a fit over this video because he’s so sick of seeing Kim Yuna everywhere. It is rather obnoxious, considering the Olympics ended months ago, and she’s still on every other commercial. Get some new celebrities, Korea! A figure skater singing a song for the soccer team makes no sense.
