Today in my youngest class, one of our words was “log”, so I showed them the classic Ren and Stimpy Log clip.  It doesn’t even matter what I show them—if it’s a video on the internet, they go crazy for it.

Any suggestions for short, silly, and child-appropriate videos to show my kids when we have down-time?

A friend told me to check out “Archer”.  It’s a newish show on FX, and I am now in love with it.  (It’s on Hulu for all of you lucky Americans, and easy to find for everyone else.)

I feel that I might be in the minority here, but I love Sarah Silverman and am excited for her new season to start tonight.

I do not understand the appeal of this show.  The only reason why I would ever want to watch it is because there are Koreans on it.  I’m sure I will eventually give in and watch it, but until then.. I don’t get it.

Let me tell you, my 24th is going to be craaazay.  I plan on waking up, eating some Krispy Kremes, meeting my mom for lunch, watching Queer as Folk with frequent interruptions because I can only find it on Megavideo, then eating chicken and grilled asparagus for dinner.  So basically my entire birthday will be spent eating and watching gay boys on TV.  Yeeeah!

Watching Arrested Development now makes Annyeong a lot funnier.  Although, when they said his name was really “Hello”, I’m guessing they meant “Haru” since they said it meant “one day”.  A bit of a stretch.  Still funny.

coffee prince

Coffee Prince is a well-known Korean drama that aired a couple years ago.  I watched it last winter and loved it, and Sakura and I had been planning on going to the actual café in Hongdae for months now.  We finally went on Sunday.  It’s really not that great—it’s overpriced and everyone pretty much goes just to take pictures, plus it’s in an area filled with many cuter places to drink coffee—but it was really cool to see it.  Too bad Kim Jae Wook wasn’t there… ha.

These ugly flowers were supposed to be painted by a girl in the show.

I haven’t been keeping up on Korean dramas very well since Boys over Flowers ended, so last night I ended up watching a few first episodes of some of the new ones.  One, 탐나는 도다 (Tamna the Island or Tempted Again) stars the above-featured cast, and if you couldn’t guess by the creep-o Western guy, it’s totally weird.  This guy is actually French (and lived in Korea for much of his life), but plays a multilingual Brit, so all of the English dialogue is really awkward/hilarious because he clearly doesn’t speak English as his first language.  Although, I believe he is the first Western guy to star in a Korean drama, so props to that.  Nevertheless, no matter how awful it was, I couldn’t stop watching it.  If you’re interested, you can watch it here.
